The 11-piece group has a classic line-up of trumpets, trombones, baritone sax and full Afro-Cuban rhythm section. It’s led by baritone player David Strahan and fronted by Colombian singer Fabian Velez DJ Russ Jones (The Hackney Globe Trotter) The Hackney Globetrotter aka DJ Russ Jones is one of the leading lights of the ever growing international 'global beats' music scene. He created Future World Funk a project with DJ Cliffy that had CD sales of over 80'000. He has now moved onto his solo project Hackney Globe Trotter. He has produced over 13 compilations, djed in over 40 countries and headlined festivals like Womad, Glastonbury, Bestival, Roslkilde and Love Box. Russ Jones plays a world beat mix up, covering everything from Cumbia to Soukous, gypsy , latin hip hop, reggaeton, dubstep, raverton, afro beats, vintage classics and beyond.
