Our Time Is Now! is a monthly Saturday afternoon party brought to you by Wah Wah 45s label boss and renowned DJ Dom Servini with special guests joining him for a session for dancers and sedentary music lovers alike, celebrating the music they love. Whether it's disco, dance floor jazz, Northern Soul or even a touch of bruk, house or hip hop, it's all fair game at this open-minded session. Think Dingwalls meets The Loft and you get the idea of what we are aspiring to! Rise, at Goldsmiths Student Union, is the perfect venue for this monthly meeting of minds, bodies and souls, with its gorgeous wooden dance floor, bespoke Funktion One sound system and not forgetting a very reasonably priced student bar! On Saturday March 21st, starting as usual at 1pm, Dom is joined by a very special guest in the shape of a legendary German producer, DJ and icon Rainer Trüby, our first international headline guest at OTIN and someone who can, and will, play both jazz-dance and eclectic / electronic sets on that Saturday afternoon. Something not to miss! Rainer and Dom will be joined by two of our rotating residents, and South London institution, Handson Family, but also by young DJ collective Jazztrain, who'll be supplying some early doors vibrations for our family dance. Once again, we'll be serving delicious Caribbean food all day long; Jake Holloway from Love Vinyl & the Dig A Little crew will be manning the vinyl record stall; and OJA will have their bold, contemporary, colourful clothing for sale, known for their signature wax prints from West Africa. London has spoken and we've listened. We need more parties like this, and the right places to do them, and Rise is just that.
