Oxford Salsa Ball 2019!

From the same committee that brought you the first ever winter masquerade, we would like to warmly invite you to the Oxford University Salsa Society Summer Ball This is Oxford’s biggest annual salsa event. Afternoon Workshops The afternoon workshops are taking place in St Columba’s hall. We have limited the availability so that you will be able to get the most out of these sessions!!! Juan Soto & Shane will be bringing their incredible flava style to a beginners and int/adv bachata class. The legendary Fadi K & Christina will be teaching int/adv salsa, and the super bubbly and vibrant Jennifer Benavidez will be teaching beg/imp. Salsa. We’re so excited to be able to bring you these workshops. Make sure you don’t miss out on this special treat! Ball The ball we take place in the grand Oxford Town Hall. We’ll have evening workshops from local teachers and performers from the OUSS team, Juan Soto & Shane, James & Evelyn and the Imperial College team. Live music will be provided by the Dockside Latin Orchestra in the salsa room as well as DJs Sergio, Petar, Fadi K and Alex running our separate salsa and bachata rooms. After Party We know that Oxford folk are hardcore party animals. This year we have booked the Emporium nightclub. It’s big and we’ll have our own local salsa DJs playing at the event. Last entry is at 2am so make sure you head straight over there after the ball. How to get here? The workshops and ball take place in central Oxford. Parking in central Oxford can be a bit of a pain. If you are getting a train, you won’t have a problem. If you bring your car, be prepared to pay.There are plenty of Park & Rides into the city. The Westgate Centre has plenty of parking spaces and is close to the venue. What to wear/bring? Attire is cocktail. We want you to be fancy, come dressed to impress and dazzle - but it is salsa and in a big old building in May so maybe come ventilated or with extra powerful deodorant! There will be an unmanned cloakroom and a cash-only cocktail bar. Tickets Buy in advance to ensure you get a ticket. Tickets to this event have sold out for the last few years.
