Partner Therapeutics at Interfusion Festival

Partner Therapeutics is a combination of Thai Massage, partner yoga, and therapeutic flying. It is a fun, playful and empowering practice with multiple healing benefits for body mind and spirit. A Partner Therapeutics session begins with partner yoga exercises where partners use breath and each other’s body weight to open and warm the body. It then progresses to therapeutic flying during which “the base” supports “the flyer” with their legs and arms as the flyer’s body extends in gently inverted stretches. The base uses gravity, resistance and sensitive touch to stretch and release the flyer’s body. When the flyer comes down they give the base Thai Massage. Interfusion Festival will take place January 18-21, 2019 (MLK Day Weekend) in Alexandria, VA. Interfusion provides a holistic opportunity for participants at all levels to explore workshops in over 20 practices with no partner required, from beginners to advanced offerings. Participants choose their adventure across a spectrum of over 100 festival activities and emerge into an open-hearted community experience. EVENT THEME The theme for this Interfusion chapter is Rebirth. In the course of the festival experience by diving into the movement, mindfulness and connection practices, we will explore our inner selves, become aware of old attachments and patterns that no longer serve us, let them go, and reemerge reborn into our magnificent uninhibited authentic selves.
