Dance floor provided by Dance With Joy 3:00pm Free Family Dance Class (30 min) 3:30pm - 5:15pm Live Music with Karen Maria Capo and Dave Fleschner w/ Edwin Coleman III We have a great intro dance lesson to usher you into the land of blues dance. Blues is a family of dances from the African American Community. It's easy to start and a lifetime to master. Acclaimed Jazz, Soul, and Blues vocalist Karen Maria Capo is set to bring her signature "sultry and sassy" sound to the stage. A seasoned performer who began her professional career on Broadway at the age of 11 in the musical Dude, Capo has since become a fixture of the elite music scenes in New York, Seattle, and Portland. This upcoming performance promises an evening of emotional depth and technical mastery, featuring her celebrated renditions of timeless classics such as "My Funny Valentine" and "At Last," mixed with Bawdy Blues dating back to the 1920s. Joining Capo for this performance is an elite duo of Pacific Northwest jazz royalty. On piano, international blues veteran Dave Fleschner brings a wealth of experience from his years touring with Curtis Salgado and sharing stages with legends like B.B. King and Steve Miller. Completing the rhythm section is "groove maker" Edwin Coleman III, a multi-instrumentalist and core member of the King Louie Organ Trio. Together, these frequent collaborators create a sophisticated, improvisational backdrop that perfectly complements Capo’s powerful vocal range and stage presence. Whether delivering gritty blues or intricate jazz standards, the trio’s synergy represents the pinnacle of the region's contemporary music scene.
