----------Class Descriptions----------
Saturday, July 21, 2018
1:00 - 2:30 pm: Mountain Meets Air
This class focuses on the concept of density. Density is one of those qualities in the dance that shifts from partner to partner, song to song, and moment to moment. Being able to connect and communicate changes in density is the mark of a true tanguero.

2:45 - 4:15 pm: The Centripetal Force
“In Newtonian mechanics, the centrifugal force is an inertial force (also called a ‘fictitious’ or ‘pseudo’ force) directed away from the axis of rotation that appears to act on all objects when viewed in a rotating frame of reference.” - Wikipedia
A centripetal force is that which counteracts a centrifugal force, also known in tango as “back energy.” We will look at how to use these forces to lead pivots, ochos and giros.

4:30 - 6:00 pm: Boleos & Friends
Don't hold back because other women will be jealous of your beautiful boleos. In this class we will talk about the follower’s free leg: how to shape, how to lead. We will also discuss how to lead boles safely in milongas. We will look and concepts of “en contra” and “a favor,” classical Naveirian boleo structure and creative innovations.

2:00 - 3:30 pm: Stylish “Alternative” Sequences
This class will tackle a challenging sequence centered around different alteraciones (cambios de dirección) used for displacements and changes of rhythm. We will look at the technique for alteraciones , especially the use of disassociation but we will work to expand out of our regular vocabulary to throw some spice onto the pista.
*Challenging
Sunday, July 22, 2018
3:45 - 5:15 pm: Milonga con Onda
Onda can be translated as vibe, feeling, or chemistry. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. Milonga is not just tango danced faster. It is a different style, feeling, and technique. Milonga has its own onda. We'll apply techniques from Saturday to classic milonga patterns to help make milongas less intimidating and more fun.

7:30 - 9:00 pm: La Caminada (Technique Class)
Tango is all about the walk, so let’s work on the walk, again… and again… In this technique class we will spend part of the time practicing solo as well as in couples. We will do drills, talk posture, weight placement, grounding, different pisadas, and even some musicality. For you drill junkies, this is the class for you!
