PHOENIX DANCE: POETICS OF FALLING & RISING We dive deeply into the poetics of falling and rising. How to listen through our skin, how to sense the space, how to taste our movement? With a shared equilibrium and gravitation point, our dance becomes one animal. How can our dances touch and interflow? How can we lift and surrender into each other's structure? Moving through inner and outer landscapes we explore the passage of the Phoenix. Through surrender to the earth, or any body that is holding, supporting or carrying us, our dance rises from the ashes. Guided by the language of the senses and our dynamic awareness, we find fluid and effortless momentum to fall and rise solo and together. Our bodies meet in natural states of strength and surrender. Dancing, playing, flowing, creating, we are moved to move. We flow into ‘in touch’ dance improvisations with a partner and in group dynamics. Our presence is the place to create from and create with. The journey takes us into experiencing and composing with the poetics of the body, the worlds of dance theater, contact improvisation and immersive performance. It deepens and expands our skills as a dancer, performer, bodyworker, somatic therapist and sensorial being. SAUNA & FIRE Enjoy the sauna, follow your flow, dance and play barefoot in the grass, surrounded by the exploding beauty of springtime flowers in the Paradiso garden. Dive in the swimming pond for another refreshing summer celebration body boosting life-kick. Relax around the fire. Feel free to just be, to breathe, to share touch and dance, to sing, to play, to celebrate. FOOD Everyone brings their own food. We can share and create a potluck. We offer water, herbal teas, a variety of fruits, nuts and chocolate. PARTICIPANTS / TRIBE This workshop and temple journey is open for people with affinity with dance, performance, physical theatre, bodywork, massage, somatic therapy and/or meditation who want to develop and deepen their art of dance and soulful embodiment. We all treasure the freedom to be able to learn in a joyful atmosphere of openness, respect for people's boundaries and consent. TEACHER Maya's work and quest as a teacher, poet and performer have a strong affinity with the worlds of eco-somatics, embodied rewilding & cosmic kinship with birthing stars. Her poetry, performances and artistic vision nourish the power of connection, inspiration, depth and warmth of existence, sharing inner worlds with the audience & participants. As an artist and dancer she explores the language of the senses and poetics of the speaking body. The alchemy of her creations and somatic therapy are about touching and being touched, getting in deep connection with who we are. It is a way to unlock and embody our aliveness. To embrace life and to love to the fullest. The sensuous body at the heart of her poetry performances, is surrendering to the wor(l)ds of imagination, emotions, somatic states, vision and meaning. Words become flesh, flesh becomes words. Maya’s teachings are deeply embedded in her research and expertise in dance and performing arts.
