PLAY-FIGHT WORKSHOP – TRENTO
18/19 FEBBRAIO 2023
Con Francesca Romano e Miriam Costa
(English below)
Temi principali:
➔ gravity practice
➔ stato di non resistenza
preservare l'integrità (psico-fisica)
➔ connessione, con o senza contatto fisico
➔ confronto e collaborazione
➔ giocare come qualità fondamentale intrinseca

CHI CONDUCE
Francesca Romano

English version
The WORKSHOP will weave a journey through different exercises alone and with a partner, eventually flowing into the free play. Focusing on reawakening awareness upon stored unnecessary tensions and dysfunctional patterns of reactions, we will gradually find ways to release them, to reorganise them in our system and make them supportive and functional again, finding back a new real energy and power.“Stop doing” and the state of “non resistance” will allow the body to re-function organically and efficiently, while the mind starts interfering less and less at each step we take. Through the other, with the other, we can flow, embrace the challenge, discover further about who we are not in a continuous interplay between confrontation and cooperation.
Main Topics:
➔ gravity practice
➔ non-resistance quality
➔ preserving structural integrity
➔ connection, with or without the physical contact
➔ confrontation & collaboration
➔ play as inherent fundamental quality

The Facilitators
Francesca Romano
She started her studies in dance and movement when she was a child. Over the years she went through Artistic Gymnastics, modern and contemporary dance, contact improvisation, dance theatre, performing arts studying and working with many dancers and movement researchers. In 2005 she graduated at the School of
Drama Paolo Grassi (Milan). She works as a dance and movement teacher, performer and choreographer. Since 2013 she has expanded her research approaching yoga and martial arts having so far a deeper experience and knowledge about connection between body, mind and inner space. This movement field was a point of revolution for her studies and she started to follow this path, researching more and more what’s beyond definitions, trying to always be in a state of openness typical of the “beginner mind”. It was in 2015 that she approached the work of Bruno Caverna during a Play-Fight workshop. From that moment she started to follow this practice constantly, finding in its tools important points of inspiration, new ways to approach movement and life, new ways to connect with the others and herself. As member of Formless Arts team she supports the realization of specific projects and works as Play-Fight facilitator.

My approach to the study of the body started from the passion for dance, from the need to express myself through alternative languages, and therefore from the study of dance theater, floor-work, release technique, together with the experimentation of physical theater, various types of dance and different somatic practices. Through the intense path of internal investigation coming from the Liquid Body technique, but above all from Bruno Caverna's Play-Fight, I was able to look into the depth and richness of bodily intelligence with more precision, which supported me in working on other aspects of the being, of which we are all composed. I feel the need to cultivate the humility of internal work, to transmit the possibility of
undertaking a new dialogue with oneself, capable of making organic and healthy approaches to the self, through the fundamental relationship with the other, the diverse and the limits. Surprise and curiosity continue to nourish my research, both as an artist and as a teacher, but first and foremost as a human being, body. In this way, I return more responsibly and fluidly to dance.
