POLISH YOUR LAMBADA: LETICIA IS IN TOWN! Lambada moves and dance are becoming increasingly popular among BRzouk dancers in the international community. With the growing popularity of J&J competitions, many BRzouk dancers have found that incorporating Lambada can add excitement to their BRzouk dance and help them learn dynamic moves that perfectly match strong musical beats. Having some Lambada skills in your repertoire and knowing how to adapt them to BRzouk is a great way to make your dance more interesting. For that reason, we have created this workshop specifically for BRzouk dancers in our community who are interested in Lambada and have already taken Lambada classes before. ◾️ABOUT THE WORKSHOP This workshop focuses on polishing the quality of movements and applying styling to different dance steps and figures, making the dance much more exciting and complex. We will also focus on the similarities between BRzouk and Lambada, using these similarities as a tool to help BRzouk dancers learn Lambada moves more efficiently. With this approach, dancers will learn not only how to dance Lambada in its pure form but also how to implement Lambada moves and styling into their BRzouk dance on a daily basis. The program consists of 5 hours of workshops + 2 hours of practice. ◾️FOR WHOM This workshop is for BRzouk dancers at least at the intermediate level. Even if you are a beginner in Lambada, we recognize that you are not beginners in BRzouk. It will be a challenging workshop, making it interesting even for dancers who have been dancing Lambada for a while. ◾️NUMBER OF SPOTS Taking into account the dance room space and the comfort of participants, we are setting a limit of a maximum of 15 couples. ◾️PROGRAM During the workshop, we will study the following Lambada movements: Chicote, Cambré, Dolphin, Boneca, Pião, Circular head movement, Basic steps, Simple turn, Double turn, Triple turn, Bamboleo, Mergulho, Frango assado, Boomerang, Desprezada. Topics to be studied in all movements: • BRzouk–Lambada translation • Physical–visual connection • Weight transfer–stillness • Leading–following • Timing–musicality • Rotation–torsion • Relaxation–coordination ◾️FORMAT Registration is preferably in couples to ensure a 50/50 proportion. If you don’t feel comfortable changing partners or if you prefer to practice only with your partner (e.g., dance teachers), you are also welcome. ◾️TEACHERS Leticia – The Lambada Queen! Hailing from Belém do Pará, the birthplace of Lambada, Leticia Castro embodies the vibrant rhythms and culture of her Brazilian roots. With a deep connection to the essence of Lambada, Leticia has been sharing her passion for this dance across the world for over 12 years. Her journey has taken her to stages and classrooms all around the globe. Leticia’s teaching approach blends tradition with innovation, making Lambada accessible and exciting for students of all levels. She offers both in-person and online classes, inspiring a global community of dancers spanning North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Leticia’s energy, dedication, and love for Lambada make her one of the most sought-after instructors in the dance world, continuing to spread the magic of this Brazilian treasure wherever she goes. Marcos de Lima is a Brazilian professional dancer and teacher who has been living in Poland since 2009. For over 15 years, Marcos has been promoting both Brazilian and Polish culture, not only in Poland but also worldwide.
