He grew up in communist Czechoslovakia (later Czech Republic) where he studied puppetry, improvisation and drama education. It was then when he started to be interested in somatic healing, body and mind connection and finding freedom through embodied expression. Later after moving into the US in 2001, he got a counseling degree and began working as a somatic psychotherapist. He became fascinated with the practice of focusing and completed his Focusing Teacher Certification. Focusing became a framework for his psychotherapy practice, Solid Healing Arts, currently in Greenfield MA. ​ Later on he encountered the dancing community and discovered contact improvisation form of dance. This opened new ways for him to work with bodily energy and to explore how dancing improvisation can contribute to healing stuck emotional energy. ​ From there it was only a step away to become a dance facilitator and DJ in 2012 and to start working with energy of music and its impact on the body, connection to one self and to others. ​ Since then his journey as a DJ and workshop facilitator led him to creating healing workshops and dance events across the US as well as internationally. A globally blended tapestry of beats, bumps, & baselines that penetrate to the marrow of your bones, spiraling around your undulating spine and unearthing your moving body. Starting his career on vinyl records in 1995, Brando was able to learn and refine his DJ capabilities under the tutelage of the finest NYC turntablists. Since then, he has transitioned from vinyl to a digital rig. Diverging from strictly pure house he now includes a massive diversity of music. Brando carefully combs the most gifted producers in underground sound and crafts his sets focusing on the simple elements and thick basslines that make bodies move. His styles include, Global Bass, Heart-Opening Electronica, Soul-Dripping Vocals, Cutting Edge Remixes, Deep Electro House, and Minimal Trap. His thoughtful transitions between sounds, styles, and textures, keeps the air moist with sweat and ecstasy. Brando has DJ’ed in venues across the United States, and internationally including Greece, Germany, and Ibiza, Spain. He is one of the originators of the long-standing epic Ecstatic Dance experience called Pollinate.
