Practica La Ligera

We are pleased to announce another edition of Practica La Ligera. This event is dedicated to the exploration of tango in an environment that is less structured than a formal milonga. Feel free to bring something specific to work on, or simply come to enjoy the relaxed, sunny tango space. Doors open at noon as we set up the space. Feel free to join us early for conversation, light music, and a bite to eat before class. Classes start at 1pm sharp and end at 2pm. The open social practica is 2pm-4pm. We welcome complete beginners, seasoned tanguerxs and everyone in between. Unlike previous La Ligera events, this one has a set schedule with little flexibility -- so arrive early to enjoy the full experience. (But don't worry, the next event will resume the longer time frame!) Martin Vittone will lead a beginner's class, and Neeraj Korde will lead an intermediate to advanced class in Ganchos. Both classes are $10 and will begin/end promptly at their scheduled time (1pm-2pm). As the unofficial DJ, Martin uses this opportunity to play all of his favorite traditional music, but we encourage you to send us your favorites too. It's only 2 hours of open dancing, so let's love every single song. Simone on Sunset has coffee, brunch, cocktails, and a regular dining menu if you're looking for some treats. Parking is street and valet only; valet is included and free, but you're always welcome to tip. Dress is casual and summery. There's a great wooden floor fit for tango shoes or any shoes that slide. Yes, there is great air-conditioning too! But as with all tango, it's always great to bring a fan. See you there!
