Practice Central - Tango Practica in the City

Hello Dancers, Birmingham’s first dedicated tango practica in the City Centre! PRACTICE CENTRAL brings you 3 hours midweek to practice your dance in the City. No formalities, music plays for you and you bring what you want to do; solo practice, partner practice or you want to just do some dancing it’s up to you. See you soon Pam & Helen @Tango Oso & @QueerTangoBirmingham The venue: The Woodman is a beautiful 1897, James & Lister Lea architects designed pub built for Ansell’s brewery of Birmingham. Facing the original, iconic, grade 1 listed London and Birmingham Railway Curzon Street station which opened in 1838 and directly opposite the new HS2 Curzon Street station due to open in 2030, the Woodman stands proud retaining many of its original features. Behind the red brick and terracotta exterior, there is a multi-roomed interior, the magnificent Minton tiled main bar with its original back fittings, a Minton tiled smoke room, a cosy library room, and a pleasant outside seating area on the square. Surrounded by Birmingham City University, residential and student accommodation, only 10 minutes walk from the heart of Birmingham city centre, the Woodman will, in 2030, be connected to Digbeth, the City Centre, and the wider Birmingham area by a new tram line stopping directly opposite the pub. At The Woodman’s heart are cask ales and the bar boasts two magnificent beer engines with ten handpumps always serving Draught Bass (making a return to Birmingham after too long an absence) along with a carefully selected range of changing cask ales sourced locally and from further afield. We also stock a great range of the finest lagers, stouts and ciders, a huge array of spirits, and a carefully chosen wine list. If you prefer, there is always fresh barista coffee or tea and a cake.
