Presence and Play - Intro to Contact improv workshop

Join Raina Satori for a deeper dive into learning the basics of contact improv. Demystify what it means to move with another person and how to explore improvisation in this formless form. Contact Improvisation is a playful and profound movement exploration. It creates opportunities for connection to self and to another and a chance to learn about how to communicate nonverbally and have very long, satisfying conversations that way. Simple in essence, it offers endless layers for exploration. Curiosity, fun, pleasure, presence, creativity, and surprise are all part of this dance "form". This workshop is perfect for those new (and brand new) to Contact! Her approach is that play and improvisation are the essence of physical, social and spiritual evolution in the human body as we are taking quantum leaps of expansion in our capacity by playing in this way. Raina apprenticed under Anna Halprin, Martin Keogh and Constantine Darling in her early years and has since gone on to produce workshops and teach at festivals across California. Raina’s capacity to offer clear, effective instruction with levity is her trademark.
