Project NFT will be participating in this year's Melbourne Tango Circuit (MTC) with a special 70's themed event - Boogie Fever, which will take place on Sunday 27th October from 3-6pm in the bigger studio at Forever Dance. A Facebook event will be up soon. Colgadas got the top vote, other responses were backward sacadas, calesita and giros. A couple of people sent responses on what their favourite aspect of tango as a dance was. One leader wrote "....feeling her breath, and her heartbeat. Feeling that she's enjoying the dance is what makes me enjoy the dance". A follower commented "Favourite move or moves. For me its the basic moves with technique. Its good to see these elementary moves in tango. Certainly the leader has to know how to hold the lady, and there's a technique to do this and the basic moves in tango. Once this is done magic comes in on the dance floor. Of course, the connection between the leader and follower is very important!!! What I learnt from my 3 years of private lessons and a week in Argentina with an Argentinian Maestro, was to feel the beat, music and your partner and then you both own the floor". Since there are 5 Sundays in September we will be back in 3 weeks rather than the usual 2 weeks after this Sunday, so don't miss out this Sunday before a longer break! Our DJ this Sunday is DJ Yury. Project NFT runs on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month starting at 7.30pm, and is $20 (cash only).
