Project Swing at Detonation Dance 5

This is a totally free of charge Introduction workshop for dancers new to West Coast Swing or even completely new dancers altogether. Detonation Dance brings together dancers from all over the world to celebrate their shared passion for this style of Swing dancing. We open up our event Sunday morning to brand new people so that you might get a taste for what it's like to attend one of these weekedners and see some of the dancers we have in attendance. Schedule for the workshop 10.30am - Sign In at Registration, meet some of the Local Instructors and Event Organisers. 11-11.45 - Basic Timing, Basic partnership, Learn the 'Passes' Break 12-12.45 - Learn 'Pushes & Whips' West Coast Swing is a dance with roots in Lindy Hop and originates from California, USA. It has gained much popularity around the world due to it's diverse music selections and an outlook that encourages freedom and improvistion. You don't need a partner to join and your welcome to bring juniors if you think they could be interested too. This project is supported by 2 local WCS groups that will be at the workshop so if you are interested in continuing your WCS dancing they'll have all the info that you need.
