Project Swing at Midland Swing Open 2016 is a completely free of charge introductory workshop into West Coast Swing. West Coast Swing originates from California and is derived from Lindy hop. It has a distinctively elastic look and encourages improvisation from both partners whilst still dancing together. Feel free to arrive slightly early the car park will be busy so allow time to find a space. 11-1 Intorduction to the 2 basic Timings in WCS, the 6 count & the 8 count. Learn the 3 pattern concepts of WCS. Push, Pass, Whip. Learn basic Lead & Follow concepts in WCS The workshop will be taught by James Bartlett & Zoe Rigby who are both established WCS dancers and teachers from the Brmingham area.
