FOR ENGLISH SEE BELOW Lindy hop är en pardans som uppstod i 1920- och 30-talets Harlem, New York, men som idag dansas över hela världen. Det är en svängig och kreativ dans som oftast dansas till swingmusik. Du får prova på att både föra och följa och att byta mellan dansrollerna. Vad är queerlindy? Det är swingdans/lindy hop utan de ofta vanligt förekommande heteronormativa dansrollerna. Att lära sig bägge dansroller ger också möjlighet att byta roll under dansens gång. Detta sätt att dansa har många namn i lindy hop-sammanhang, vi har valt att använda ordet queerlindy, dels för att knyta an till andra danser och rörelser såsom queertango och queersalsa, men också för att vi vill stärka och utvidga HBTQ+communityt inom swingdans-scenen. Vi vill också skapa ett sammanhang att prova på och lära sig lindy hop för de av oss som inte alltid känner sig bekväma eller hemma i en ofta heteronormativ pardans-kontext. Creative, with a great swing to it, it is most often danced to swing music. You will get the opportunity to both lead and follow, and even change roles while dancing. What is queer lindy? It is swing dancing without regard to the traditional heteronormative dance roles, and with the option to switch roles while dancing. This way of dancing has many names in the lindy community, but we have chosen to use the term queer lindy to connect with other movements like queer tango and queer salsa. But also to expand the LGBTQ+ community within the swing dancing scene and create an opportunity to learn lindy hop for those of us who do not always feel comfortable in the often heteronormative couple dance context.
