About this Event
This party is for those who seriously love rhythm and culture. DJ D'Aço will be mixing an unrivaled mix of Timba (for Casino and Rueda), Son, Semba, Kizomba, and Funk (for Hustle). layers of rhythms like these are not found at just any random dance party.
The lessons before the social are for Hustle and Semba. They are recommended for anyone beyond new beginners. New beginners should attend Beginner Casino and Beginner Kizomba between 8:30-9:30.
There are weekly dance classes for all of these afro-diasporic social dance styles available in Pittsburgh. They are tied together by an underlying shared approach to the beat and cyclical rhythms.
We will also have available tamales from Lula la Chula.
