About this Event

Join us for a Queer Bachata Workshop where we’ll explore both footwork and partnerwork in a playful way. We’ll move beyond fixed roles and invite you to experience the dance through flux and flow—switching, blending, and creating space for freedom in movement and connection. Whether you’re new or experienced, this is a chance to discover bachata as a fluid, expressive dance where everyone can lead, follow, and flow and even co-creating something beyond that binary. Teacher Elin Elbi is convinced that everyone has the ability to dance in their own unique way. With her greatest rhythm and drummer – the heart – Elin wishes to spread the joy of dance and a sense of freedom both in the body and in the world. Dance is medicine, and Elin feels deep humility and gratitude toward bachata from the Dominican Republic and all the teachers who have been, and continue to be, part of the dance. Elin hopes that you will feel welcome and seen, and that you will flow with the liberating energy of dance in community.
