ELECTROKID

In 1998 Electrokid started DJ'ing after hearing breakbeat music at local parties in Portland, Oregon. He originally formulated a style that leaned toward German and Florida electro breaks, but across a span of 15 years he has collected over 6000 drum & bass, 2step, house, and mid and up-tempo breakbeats tracks both on vinyl and in digital format. Along with an evolution of style, his mixing format has changed with available technology. He has learned to mix music using vinyl records with conventional Technics 1200s, digital vinyl systems, and fully digital midi controlled devices.
From 2001-2004 he was a resident at Virus! Breaks; Portland's longest-running breakbeat weekly. He has also played various radio shows in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon as well as operating a weekly internet broadcast on So Broken. In the year 2025, it is predicted he will be asked to play a mega rave on the International Space Station. Aliens like it funky.
In 2011, he formed the broken beat collective Basscult to produce parties and promote break beat music in its many forms

-=HOUSE CALL=-
Rose City Underground ran House Call, a weekly, for 17 years before taking a MUCH NEEDED breather.
Well… we caught our breath.
And we are ready to return in full force.
We will be working hard to bring you fresh new sound with a consistent heavy nod towards the cultural history that flows behind us. A scene grows when you nurture the culture. This we know.
We will continue to showcase top-notch Northwest talent that have helped carve the local sound over the years. And yes…. We will be showcasing them with some of the heaviest hitters in the Underground game from around the world.
Matt e Starr, Michael Gabriel, and Richie Staxx spent nearly two decades developing relationships with some of the most talented artists across the globe and we look forward to bringing them back to the dance floors for the community to be inspired to move to.
And above all else… We look forward to introducing new talented local artists to the community. While bringing life and a sustainable vibe to local businesses that deserve all of our support.

*About No Requests
In 2021, a group of friends were out late one night in Portland, looking for a place to listen and dance to amazing house music artists and DJs.
We weren’t just looking for any club. We were looking for a house music oasis. A place that consistently embodies the club culture we grew up with, where house and electronic music is enjoyed by everyone, without intolerance or judgement. But… we couldn’t find it in the way we wanted.
We were an eclectic mix. Passionate house music DJs influenced by the European club culture, event curators and long time DJs from Portland, and transplants from all over the world who now call Portland home.
One day, we came together to create a new concept based on our experiences and our love of house music. As an eclectic bunch of music lovers, we know that diversity has always been at the heart of club culture and house music. Celebrating and respecting everyone regardless of religion, race, physical ability, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity is the foundation of club culture.
After months of creative planning, we decided to contribute to the house music scene in Portland in a very special way and open a club called No Requests. At No Requests, we follow a radically open dance floor and door policy. We ensure that all of our house music events embody the club culture that we love, believe in, and want to foster, while keeping our guests as safe as possible during this time of ambiguity.
Our commitment is to consistently showcase the best Portland-based house music DJs as well as regional (Oregon), national, and international house music DJs, while celebrating diversity and equality, and constantly innovating the experiences and services at No Requests.
And by doing so, Portland's club culture and house music scene will be globally recognized as one of the top destinations for house and electronic music
