re-turning: a solstice dance celebration

Vaccinated-only indoors ecstatic dance event. On the night of the solstice full moon, let us gather together and dance through the unspoken and unexpressed parts of our selves. This evening will include a brief facilitated warm up and opening circle/covid safety check in, and 90 mins of uninterrupted music for movement and dance, followed by a cool down and closing circle. Full Covid Safety info below. ~~~~ Reaching altered states of consciousness, dancing with the spirit world, delighting in shadows and light, the Shamanatrix invites you into a journey woven from threads of soul and a collage of melody that will leave you transformed. Global nomad, cultural rebel, social misfit, lover of music and movement, formerly a co-facilitator of Dance Temple Comox Valley, they have been honing their art and are honored to share this magic and medicine for everyone. Mel is grateful to live, love, and dance, on the Unceded traditional territory of the K’òmoks First Nation. COVID SAFETY Numbers will be strictly limited to 40 dancers (venue capacity is normally 170-200 seated/standing). No fans will be running, but HEPA filters will be placed around the room. If you have a HEPA filter you can lend for this event, please contact the organiser. Vaccinated dancers only, no exceptions. Masks are required (we recommend testing your mask before hand to ensure breathability when dancing). Face shields are not a substitute for masks for cardio activity. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please do not attend if you have travelled outside of Canada within the prior 14 days, have known exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID within the last 14 days, or are waiting for the results of a COVID test. Please do not attend if you display any symptoms of COVID, including nausea, dry cough, diarrhea, (add in other symptoms). Refunds will be provided to those who need to cancel. When you arrive you will be invited to choose a color of ribbon to wear on your wrist (you may opt to wear it elsewhere, but please wear somewhere visible). Red: I want to dance solo, please give me space, and don’t try to connect with me. Yellow: I am happy to connect, but only at a distance. Green: I’m happy to connect close up.
