This is a unique event featuring professional international artists and hosted in a stunning, one-of-a-kind venue. We are thrilled to welcome our special guest from Guatemala, the Canadian artist and DJ, Mixwell, for an ecstatic dance session. Our resident DJ, MK , will also provide his signature ecstatic dance vibes. Tefa Vento the founder of Paxkan, will be leading a meditation for the solstice. Kasia , sound healer, a magical journey to open the event. Enjoy performances by talented flow artists, relax by the pool, and indulge in delicious, healthy snacks. ABOUT THE ARTISTS: �MIXWELL (Mixwell @ Envision Festival, Costa Rica) Mixwell's rich & eclectic sound is nourished by a three decades-long love affair with music. Growing up in the cultural melting pot of Montreal, he was trained in classical and jazz theory, and would dive into music production at age 12. He would experiment with audio synthesis and sampling dusty records - infatuated at first with soul, funk and hip hop, and eventually turning his ears towards the earth. Through his travels in Latin America he developed a fascination with the more organic sounds; diving into tribal, tropical and indigenous music, to align with his lifelong passion of wilderness & nature. After all, the traditional instruments fabricated by people since the dawn of humanity are derived from the living earth: the hard woods of native trees and the skin & bones of wild animals, all nourished by the soil itself, and therefore the music of our cultures belonging equally to the land as to the peoples that channel it. This philosophy breathed new life into Mixwell's passion for the craft, and helped create the vibrant sound we hear today. Through discovering ecstatic dance in Lake Atitlan, the sacred Mayan highlands in Guatemala that would become his home, he developed a DJ style that would allow him to weave through all his diverse influences in a cohesive musical journey. These unique and captivating sets would go on to ignite dance floors around the world as he toured 20+ nations, becoming a favourite in festival circuits and dance communities (in such renowned events as Lightning in a Bottle , Symbiosis , Envision , Montreal Jazz Fest , Lucidity and many more), and his single Serendipity would find him international success from fans in over 150 countries. It’s me –MK-, AKA Marek Gabriel Kovar, music runs through my veins, and I’ve been DJing since my first gig in the Czech Republic way back in 2008. While I dabbled in mixing for a while, my passion for music led me to explore the electronic music scene, and I started DJing again in 2019 in Vancouver, Canada. My music is more than just beats and rhythms; it’s a story waiting to be told. With my background in theatre and acting, I approach DJing as if I’m putting on a performance. She studied at The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, The Center of Light Institute of Sound Healing and Shamanic Studies, and The DEN Meditation in LA. Music and spirituality have been central to Kasia's life since childhood. As a classically trained pianist and electronic music producer, she understands how frequencies impact the body on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. After witnessing the profound impact of sound healing, Kasia committed her life to exploring and sharing the healing power of music and frequencies, forming Mystic Meditations to integrate her spiritual practices. Kasia's electronic music has been signed to labels such as 9MM LABEL Spain, 404 Deep House Records, and the all-female label Powher Sound in LA. Miguel has received the responsibility as Jicarero in the Tunuwame ceremonial center for 10 years. He works alongside his uncle, Don Rafa, to represent the Wirikuta Preservation Project as appointed by the tribal government.His art is known in museums and exhibits around Mexico and he now travels the globe to raise money and awareness for the future of Wirikuta and the Wixárika Nation. In 2019 Miguel’s family was chosen to speak at the United Nations on behalf of Wirikuta, the preservation of their cultural heritage, medicine and land.
