About this Event

"Just as the ancients danced to call upon the spirits in nature, we too can dance to find the spirits within ourselves that have been long buried and forgotten." ~ Anna Halprin Thrifty is our guest Minister of Music this Sunday! He says, "Dancing demands our more immediate attention and cultivates a climate of mindfulness and presence. In this state, we wipe away all that prevents us from experiencing peace, healing, joy, and ecstasy. I weave my ecstatic dance sets with balance of diversity of rhythms, melodies, genres, and feeling at the forefront of my intention and creative process. As I move into my fourth year of living in community at Trillium in Southern Oregon with others and out of a long-term relationship, I am keenly aware of seeking healthy balance in all of my new and existing relationships with others, to the earth, and most importantly at this stage of my life, with myself. My desire is to impart a strong sense of balance as we twirl and wend our ways through this sacred dancefloor and beyond." Thrifty believes that music feeds our souls. He’s a dancer and a DJ, and as a sound professional he's helped to take Tribe's sound production to a whole new level. He began listening to his inner DJ in 2008 and started playing for Tribe in 2015, and he dreams of producing and performing his own music one day. He currently lives at Trillium Wilderness Community and Retreat Center in Southern Oregon where he is a regular DJ at Williams Ecstatic Dance.
