Reding Dance NC Workshop

Jacob Reding specializes in Two-Step (Progressive Swing), Country Swing, and West Coast Swing. Jacob has been a friend of the Charlotte community since January of this year and Southern Steps is extremely excited to have him back for more fun. Jacob will be in town Wednesday-Sunday with the main workshop landing on Sunday December 10 from 12-5pm. Thank you!!!*** ******************************************** #RedingSetDance JACOB REDING’s BIO… Jacob Reding has been dancing social Country Swing / 2-Step / 3-step since August 2003. He began competing at bar competitions in 2012 and has now become the most decorated and accomplished country bar circuit dancer, having earned 33 Champion Belt Buckles with various partners over the years as well as numerous other wins in Country Swing (stationary), Progressive Freestyle & Traditional, Slotted Swing, & Lifts & Aerials. Among these accomplishments are 1 National Championship Title from ESSS 2021, Country Thunder Champions in 2022, as well as 1 World Champions Title from the UCWDC World’s Country Showdown Freestyle Division in 2022 (Also took 2nd in Traditional Division). Jacob trained professionally as a ballroom instructor with Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Fort Worth in 2017 & 2018, where he studied many types of partner dancing. Jacob then began training West Coast Swing in early 2018 under the tutelage of Shay Patel, while diving head first into JT SWING TEAMS choreography for 4 seasons, performing both the JV and VARSITY routines as a team Captain, assisting the directors. He most recently trained under the guidance of Deon Harrell and Maria Bileychik and he currently competes at the ADVANCED level of the WSDC. He spent most of his career in the Dallas/Ft Worth region of Texas, but now resides in Boise, Idaho as of August 2023. He looks forward to helping a smaller, very eager dance community to flourish and blossom into an even greater place to dance! In the past 2 years, Jacob has transitioned into more of a mentor role while traveling, teaching, and sharing his knowledge with various dance communities across the U.S. He has also been very involved with Watermark Community Church’s Pre-K ministry for the past 10 years. His love for Jesus has given him a conviction for fostering healthy growth within community, which is reflected in the joy of using his passion for dance to strengthen relationships, encourage communication, grow confidence, and build character.
