Pre-registration by May 5 required!
The day-long workshop of Relational Dance Research begins with a session on Relating Self to Self through an introduction of the somatic practice of the Alexander Technique.
The second session, Relating Self to Dancing, will focus on investigating and expanding your solo improv practice.
Relating Self to Dancing Others, will be a facilitated Contact Improv experienced followed by a CI Jam.

Space is very limited, so registration is available to full day participants only this time, except for the CI Jam starting at 6 pm, for which pre-registration is not required. You will not be dancing hard the whole time, IN FACT, people are encouraged to take breaks from dancing frequently and engage by witnessing.
The sessions will offer a unique perspective on relationships with yourself, the world around you, and other people through movement and dance. We are looking forward to sharing the moment with you and discovering together.
Julie Mulvihill holds a PhD in Dance Theory and Practice from Texas Woman’s University and a teaching certification in the Alexander Technique from Chesapeake Bay Alexander Studies. Julie has presented dance work and taught in university and community programs all over the United States. She combines her Alexander Technique training with her passion for dance making and pedagogy. Julie has studied, practiced, and taught all kinds of movement in all kinds of ways with all kinds of people.
