Remembering & Dancing Juan Bruno's Tango, at Bienvenida

Legendary milonguero, Juan Bruno was also my first teacher in Buenos Aires when I arrived for the first time in spring of 1992. He was a wonderful, unique dancer, very creative, respected by all, thoughtful about tango, and deeply generous about sharing his dance with interested new dancers. You can see him dance and teach, and hear him interviewed, on trennerstangoarchive.com (for example, at https://trennerstangoarchive.com/programs/juan-bruno-salon-solo-v302) and elsewhere, often with Danny and me assisting or translating, since it was Danny Trenner's good idea to bring video cameras to BsAs. Let's delve into some of the details that made Juan Bruno so special, as remembered by me – because I can't pretend to teach you as he would have, but I can certainly share some of the things I clearly remember! Along with distinctive moves and timing that a leader might emulate, Juan loved creating somewhat extravagant embellishments for the follower's role! He would dance them whenever he danced in that role, and taught me some of them.
