Remembrance: In memory of Maura Freeland

Aloha friends and family, It has been 8 months since our beloved maura transitioned from earth to the beyond. At the beginning of this year, i (Maura's partner Andy) had a sudden calling to immediately move back to the big island, hawaii where maura and i lived the majority of our life together. While we hosted a memorial for her a week after her departure, it was always my intention to come back to puna to host a memorial for our hawaii community. This is the community that witnessed and supported maura and i in our journey of becoming ecstatic dance djs and transformational event producers. Since arriving back on the island in february, ion and i have been showered with support and friendship. This truly is home. The time has come for us to come together and celebrate the life, death and dance of the magickal being we knew as maura. On Saturday, April 16, we will be gathering at kalani to bless her journey to forever. Kalani is the retreat center where maura and i first landed, and where we developed ourselves as artists and creators. There is no better place for us to share this moment together. Kalani is the Hawaiian word for "heaven", and Kalani was Maura’s heaven on earth. Like a phoenix, she has shed her skin and will arise from the ashes. The time has come.
