About this Event

- Kia ora Taranaki dance tribe - I am so super excited to announce that we have the incredibly talented Carlos Riegel coming back to Taranaki! If you came to the Ecstatic Dance at NZ Spirit Fest, then you would have seen him up on stage drumming for us. An incredibly talented musician and music therapist in his own right he will be offering his medicine of sound wrapped around us before and after we dance. Join Carlos and Sarsha Hope for this potent dance with the influence of the Capricorn full moon to aid us in rewriting our stories that no longer serve . This waxing moon is a perfect opportunity to re-write our next chapter, to refashion our dreams and goals that didn't work out. Something needs to be rewritten and this moon provides the perfect energy for it. Join us on a guided journey of sound and music facilitated by Music Therapist Carlos Riegel. The experiential session focuses on using sounds from a range instruments such as orchestral gong, didgeridoo, classical guitar, woodwind, hand made drums, and taonga puoro, to facilitate a deep state of relaxation. In the journey Carlos creates improvised landscapes of sound while guiding participants into a deep meditative state where internal processes take place. The music might evoke memories, deep feelings and visual representations of the mind, while holding a safe container to help processing and transmuting what goes on within you. You will experience how it feels to be enveloped in sound, wrapped and supported to reflect your own inner world. We will begin with the healing power of sound, which will rise us into a dance of letting go before settle again for integration and more sound healing.
