Whether you are new to Blues dancing or a pro, join me for a fun review and exploration of Rhythm in this workshop! Shuffles, triples, and Latin rhythms. syncopation, polycentrism, and polyrhythms. Or worse, When there is almost nothing! That's what we are going to dip our toe into during the first part of this workshop. Come explore some harder music with me! The first two hours are on Rhythms with an optional hour class on a more conceptual topic. For this month it's: Making movements work for Blues. I often get a lot of questions about if X is Blues. Most of the time the answer is no, but not typically for the reasons people think. If the movement doesn't match the music, it doesn't work, is the oversimplified answer. Come explore finding the limits of the movements you do know and bringing your movement knowledge into your blues in a way that fits.
