Rhythm Sanctuary - Exploration Through Music and Movement

Join us for the Grande Opening of The Imaginarium, a studio space dedicated to events which nurture the imagination. On this first of our Second Saturdays, we will take you through a guided exploration of rhythm. Rhythm Sanctuary is an evening dedicated to an internal wandering within body, sparked by the soundscape of live and electronic music. Our sonic journey will be crafted by Kællum, a Philly-based DJ with a focus on meditative tribal and world sounds, accompanied by hypnotic dance rhythms. <•<•(https://soundcloud.com/kaellum)•>•> Participation as a dancer, a musician, and as a witness are all warmly welcomed. Although several drums will be provided, feel free to bring a drum or instrument of choice. Acro yoga, contact improv, and your own funky-unique style of dance is highly encouraged. We welcome you to be yourself and share your presence with us. Rhythm Sanctuary runs from 7 PM to 11 PM on 11/11! The opening hour (7 PM - 8 PM) hosts a warm-up class to prep your body for movement. From 8 PM - 11 PM, we will dive into the rhythm. Every one at every level of movers and musicmakers, please join us in opening our sweet community-minded studio, and ignite its fire for creativity and healing. We are so excited to share this space with you! Admission: Sliding-scale donation from $11 - $17. Ages: 18+ We ask for a shoe- and spirit-free night for us all.
