Ecstasy is not a thing to understand but to be entered. We claim this birthright through intention, music, movement, beauty, and reverence. Thus we summon the raw, holy current that reconnects us to the Great Mystery that is living through us. To surrender the mind and let the body be the prayer. For, we are, by nature, ecstatic beings ~animal, divine, instinctive, luminous. The ecstatic is not born of thought; it arises in the trembling place where breath meets bone and where sound becomes imbued with soul. It is the wisdom of the ancient, wild body, and the still dreaming babe in arms....the language of spirit made flesh. It may come as quiet exaltation...a relaxed excitement that opens doorways to deeper knowing. And, at other times, it surges through us like a river remembering the sea, sweeping us into the holy motion of oneness with all life. Dance and music are our medicine, our map, our alchemy. They teach us how to listen with our skin, how to pray with our feet, how to speak in pulse and rhythm rather than logic or reason.
