Rhythms of the World Dance at LAC

We are off to ........ Nigeria, Congo, Brazil, Mali, Cape Verde, Haiti, India, Cuba, Senegal, Turkey, Jamaica, Ireland, USA, and all points on our musical Earth. Sampling the rhythms of .....Kizomba, Blues, Soukhous, Rai, Zouk, Highlife, Swing, Rumba, Samba, Reggae, Soweto Jive, Tango, Salsa, Flamenco, Rock ..... From artists as diverse as Manu Dbango, Bob Marley, Habib Koite, Maria de Barros, Cesaria Evora, Ken Okulolo, Sharon Jones, Papa Wemba, Mika Mendes, Ricardo Lemvo, Africando, Kanda Bongo Man, Kiran Ahluwalia, Marvin Gaye and many more. To kick off this new event we will have a Gala FREE Opening Dance on Wednesday, December 14th. LAC and Embodied Dance will continue the Zouk Fusion Wednesdays on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, and we will do our Rhythms of the World Dances on 2nd and 4th, this December being the 14th and 28th, Aubrey Griffith-Zill and Rachel Meth will do a 1 hour workshop on Rhythm and Connection prior to the dance. Charge is $10-$20 sliding scale for those participating. No charge for dance afterwards whether you take the workshop or not.
