About this Event

#RoadsToInspiration Weekend Symposium: The Road to Inspiration starts where you are. Builders and A GPS for Tango Listening will inspire your dancing, musicianship, teaching and pleasure with surprising facts, connections, and insights that will bring us closer to Argentine Tango and to one another. In the symposium Builders we will lift the veil. Argentine Tango has been shrouded in myth so long that choosing what to believe is a rite of passage. What's the real deal? Professor of history Catalina Cabana will help you unearth historical gems and expose the quiet cover-ups to transform how you hear, see, and feel Tango. To get where you’re going in Argentine Tango, it helps to know where you’re coming from. In A GPS for Tango Listening, bandoneonist and ethnomusicologist, Heyni Solera brings her sense of adventure and scholarship to explore the twists and turns of where Argentine Tango music is today and where it can take us in the future. TangoSpheres symposiums are geared to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Each symposium will have interactive elements and/or live music demonstrations, as well as homework to deepen our understanding. TangoSpheres is dedicated to organizing special and unforgettable experiences with distinguished presenters representing all of the artistry of Argentine Tango. Our platform is via Zoom.
