This is a day to celebrate movement & connect from heart to heart with like minded friends. ROOTS RAGGA In this dance workshop you will connect deeply with your ROOTS and connect with the joy of being here on this planet & celebrating life. My own roots are from Jamaica from my mother’s side and Ragga / Dancehall is a dance style which was birthed there. There are many different foot steps to learn and many movements come from the pelvis and hips. Ragga / Dancehall has it’s origin in African Dance and is influenced by HipHop. I like to cultivate a very fun and feminine Ragga style which is all about coming into your power and joy. There will be sequences where you will be guided and learn simple steps and other sequences you will be given space to explore your free movement and flow! Find more info about Jelena: www.danceaway.ch ZOUK FUSION This workshop will take you into the world of Brazilian partner-dancing. Zouk is a dance that is all about connecting with the other, making a FUSION of two expressive bodies and souls. I am originally from Switzerland and have been living in Rio de Janeiro for the past 7 years, where I totally immersed into the Brazilian Culture. I’ll introduce you to the Brazilian joy of sharing life through dance. Zouk - that originated from Lambada - is known for the hip- and head-movements and the incredible flow of two people dancing. My approach on partner-dancing comes with a totally new perspective. Everyone will learn how to lead & follow and how to change back-and-forth between proposing movements and surrendering. We’ll establish a body communication that will empower you to express yourself with someone else through dancing - an encounter of two dancing beautiful souls.
