Rueda Switch is a high-energy rueda with tempo and quick changes — a rueda where Follow and Lead switch roles continuously. Level Requirements To make sure you — and everybody else — get the most out of the workshop, you should have these Switch survival skills: • You have already tried Rueda Switch before — or you dance both roles • You are confident with fast-paced callings and tempo • You thrive with challenges and feel comfortable not always being in control • You are okay with mistakes but understand the importance of fixing them quickly so the rueda keeps flowing 🎶 Rueda Musicality 🕒 15:30–17:00 Musicality has many layers. It can be: • When the rueda follows the flow of the music • When you use breaks in the song to spice up the rueda • When you switch between tiempo and contratiempo • When you incorporate Afro or rumba sections in the rueda — according to the music • When you actively use the lyrics in the rueda Level Improver / Intermediate 🌟 About Tina Dreyer Tina is pure happy energy — the kind of dancer you’ll see smiling and singing while dancing. She loves high-energy ruedas with fast transitions but also enjoys going back to basics. When she teaches, her focus is on fundamentals, flow, and most importantly… FUN. She will definitely sneak as much musicality as possible into the rueda and invite you into her happy place of pauses, contrasts, contratiempo, and body movement.
