About this Event

Mixta is a fun rueda structure where two separate, overlapping ruedas are dancing in the same circle. It's a great structure to dance socially, and forms the basis of a lot of the more complex structures. This workshop we will be looking at how to interact between the two groups in mixta, and how to integrate travelling moves into a mixta rueda! This workshop is aimed at intermediate and advanced rueda dancers, but is a great introduction to rueda structures if you've never tried different types of rueda. If you're not sure whether you're able to join us then just ask Meg! Never done mixta before? No problem! This concept will be introduced from the ground up, building confidence and mastery of the basics before we explore the joy (alegría) of making a mixta rueda flow in a way that even more experienced dancers won't have experienced before. Do I have to pre-book this workshop? YES! We do require even numbers of couples for mixta, and both leaders and followers play a very active role in any rueda structures! Therefore initially a restricted number of leader and follower passes will be made available, and a waiting list will operate. We will expand passes when we have enough participants to add another two couples. Please book here, or speak to Meg to reserve a ticket if paying cash (pre-payment is required). Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will be able to dance if you don't pre-book 😭
