Rueda Switch Workshop

We're excited to be doing another Switch workshop with some more new, Rueda de Amistad curated, switch moves! Rueda Switch is an exciting and super fun rueda format where the leaders and followers switch roles. 💃🏻↔️🕺Adentro/Afuera flips the orientation of the rueda. Combining these two concepts is a Rueda de Amistad original idea! 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗲𝗱𝗮 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲? No problem! At the start of the workshop we will introduce and revise the basic rules of switch before exploring how switch concepts work with common rueda calls. 𝗔𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿? No problem! We believe that it's important to revise the basic calls that we use because switch is a dynamically evolving style of rueda and we use different calls to clarify exactly how and where the "switch!" is happening in different scenarios. We will then be moving on to explore flipping the rueda structure whilst changing roles using Rueda de Amistad original concepts and providing a whole new level of chaos and hilarity! 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁? When dancing rueda switch, everyone needs to be able to both actively lead and actively follow in a rueda! This workshop is open to anyone who can 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝘂𝗲𝗱𝗮 and is aimed at intermediate/advanced level rueda dancers (ask if you're not sure whether it's for you!) You must be able to both lead and follow basic rueda calls (dileque no, enchufle, directo, sombrero, lazo, cero, pasaela) to join us, so if you're not confident in one of your roles, we would highly recommend that you attend a few salsa and rueda classes in your less familiar role to prepare.
