Book here: https://linktr.ee/rushmabanana Rush Mabanana is a professional dancer and choreographer from the province of Limpopo, South Africa with over 15 years of experience as a professional dancer and technical expertise in Pantsula and Gumboot dance as well as Amapiano. Rush has always been determined touse these dances styles known as “FreedomDances” born from the blacktown ships of South Africa during the apartheid era and have become a dance symbol of resilience, unity and healing for black South Africans. These dances have evolved as a whole culture themselves, and a space of creativity with several generations using it to tell their stories and show how creative arts can help community transition through the bondages of racism to become a symbol of democracy, community building and healing. They bring together afusion of African traditional and moderndance, tap, jazz, andothergenres, including theatrical observations of everydaylife’s gestures, such as mime, clownery, acrobatics and magicaltricks. Rush brings a unique story telling through dance including fast, frenzied footwork and body movements that are simply mesmerising. Rush hastravelled the world performing with big South African artists and has been featured in multiple music videos which includes South African greats like Spenzaman, Makhadzi, MasterKg, King Monada etc …as well as appeared in a number South African TV programs In Australia. Rush has been mesmerising audiences and participants teaching and performing his unique techniques in schools includingYeronga State High School, Queensland Academy of CreativeI industries, Passion and Purpose Academy(Canberra), and a guest teacher with MadDanceHouse(Brisbane), O2 Dance Studios and StudioM4(Melbourne)and performed in many community festivals in Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
