SailChata 2026 A Bachata Sailing Adventure in Croatia

Imagine waking up in a peaceful bay, swimming in crystal clear water before breakfast and sailing with your crew towards the next Croatian island. During the day, we sail, swim, explore bays and spend time together on board. On five evenings, we organise Bachata socials in beautiful locations along the route, including marinas, coastal towns and open air settings whenever possible. One evening in the middle of the week is intentionally kept free from an organised social. A relaxed evening in a peaceful bay, with dinner, conversations, stars and perhaps a guitar or spontaneous music. There may still be music or even some dancing, but there is no fixed programme and no organised social that evening. Just time to enjoy the atmosphere and the people around you. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗮. A shared sailing experience for the Bachata community, combining island hopping, social dancing and genuine time together beyond a normal dance evening. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗮 SailChata grew from a shared idea between friends who love dance, sailing and bringing communities together. Guido is a professional dance instructor and an experienced organiser of dance events, including events in Croatia. He is connected to Bachata communities in Vienna, Split and across Austria and Croatia. Max and Nina bring their sailing knowledge, yacht connections and experience with routes and crew life. They also love dancing and especially enjoy the energy that dancers bring to a shared experience. Tufan is a well connected Bachata community leader in Vienna. He supports community communication, promotion and the music for our Bachata socials. When the opportunity arose to secure several sailing yachts in Punat under exceptional Last Minute conditions, the idea became real: not simply to organise a sailing holiday and not simply to create another dance event, but to bring both worlds together. This First Edition is intentionally small, personal and community driven. It is built around flexible sailing, beautiful bays, Bachata evenings, shared meals, conversations and spontaneous moments. SailChata is designed to feel real, warm and memorable rather than overproduced. 𝗡𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱. Our professional skippers guide the sailing and show everyone how to help with the sails, ropes and daily life on board. Everyone becomes part of the crew. That can include helping with the sails and ropes, preparing meals, keeping shared spaces organised and following the skipper’s instructions. Flexibility, participation and a positive crew spirit are essential. Whether you travel alone, with friends or as a couple, you are welcome. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 📅 22 to 28 August 2026 📍 Starting and ending in Punat Marina Island of Krk, Croatia ⛵ Three modern sailing yachts (38-45ft) Each yacht accommodates six participants. Potentially more. Additional yachts may be added depending on demand and availability. 🌊 The exact route depends on the weather, safety and sailing conditions. Possible destinations include Krk, Cres, Rab and other nearby Croatian islands, bays and marinas. 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 Five organised Bachata socials are included during the official event. Tufan (Go for Social Vienna) will curate and manage the music for our Bachata socials, shaping each evening around the atmosphere and the people on the dance floor. If enough participants stay in Punat after the official end of the event, we may organise an additional sixth social on Friday evening. This additional Friday social is not part of the guaranteed programme and depends on how many people remain. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 695 € per person If all 18 places on the three yachts are filled, the participation price will be reduced to: 595 € per person Thanks to exceptional Last Minute charter conditions, even the price of 695 € is significantly below what a comparable sailing week would normally cost. The price also includes the organisation of five Bachata socials along the route, with the possibility of an additional sixth social on Friday evening if enough participants stay. Future editions are expected to be considerably more expensive, which makes this First Edition a particularly attractive opportunity to experience SailChata. It is intended to cover: • Groceries • Shared meals • Water and non alcoholic drinks • Diesel for when we can't / prefer not to use the sails Alcohol is not included in the general crew fund. Anyone who wants alcoholic drinks can bring them personally or make a separate arrangement with the members of their yacht crew. We want to keep alcohol consumption moderate. For a participation price of 695 €, the remaining balance is 295 €. If all 18 places are filled and the final price is reduced to 595 €, the remaining balance is 195 €.
