SALSA CERTIFICATION COURSE TITO ORTOS, PUERTO RICO Monday Oct. 9, 2023 from 11am - 6pm Royal York Hotel, room: Confederation 5/6 History of Salsa, Sunday Oct.8 from 12:30pm-2pm, room: Confederation 3 The Salsa Certification Course by Tito Ortos is geared to salsa instructors or to those dancers who are thinking of becoming salsa instructors in the future. The course is also open to those salsa aficionados who would like to delve deeper and learn as much as possible about the art of Salsa. The course will include both theoretical and practical components and will cover topics such as the history and evolution of Salsa music and dance, musicality and timing, teaching methodology including the Tito Ortos Method, as well as new topics for 2023 including more advanced lead and follow technique, a full hour of Pachanga and Boogaloo and an intro to Bomba y Plena. A written summary of the topics discussed and a certificate of completion will be given to each course attendee. For those who took the course in 2022, the History of Salsa is optional.
