Salsa Dancers Musicality Workshop by Joaquin Arteaga

Joaquin Arteaga, Musical Director & Band Leader of World renowned band TROMBORANGA is teaching his ONLY Australian Musicality & percussion workshop for dancers in Sydney Thursday 22nd February @ Off Broadway Hotel, Glebe. The Workshop will be 2 hours covering -Understanding rhythm * Pulse & counting. * Down and up beats, syncopation. * The clave concept. -Listening * Identifying sounds of instruments on salsa tunes. * Structures of a salsa song. * Understanding musical styles and genres. (Son, mambo, cha cha, pachanga, rumba, bachata, etc) -Coordination * Teaching your body and ears to response to music. * Coordination movements and exercises. -Percussion * Conga. * Timbal. * Güiro. We will be having a Pre-Workshop Dinner @ Off Broadway with Joaquin at 6pm. ***All pre-paid guests are welcome to join us BUT MUST confirm 'Dinner' by Thursday midday to arrange seating.
