About this Event
We are back in Bristol at Warmley Community Centre for our second week of doing footwork and technique classes until such time as it's considered safe to do partner work.
The class times will be as follows:
7.30 – 8.20pm: Salsa shines/footwork (Not suitable for beginners)
For classes we are following official guidelines and going beyond, each dancer will have a dance pod which is 2m wide and 1.5m deep, around each pod is a 2m run off area, this allows for 4m between dancers to either side and 3.5m
in front and behind from the centre of each pod. All dance classes must have at least a 3m sq area for each dancer if not providing the 2m runoff area.
Please note before booking the numbers at Warmley are limited to 15 people plus the teachers.
COVID INFORMATION & POLICIES
Here at Abanico Salsa (Warmley), your safety is our priority and in order to minimise risk and maximise the time we can stay open, we will be implementing the following protocols. I know this is a long list of rules but please treat this as us all working together, to make Abanico Salsa (Warmley) the safe place to be!
The negatives first…. Please do NOT join us if you:
Are suffering from possible Covid symptoms
Have had contact with someone who has had Covid in the last 14 days
Are isolating with Covid, or shielding someone with Covid
Should be in quarantine having returned from a designated high risk area
Full Government guidelines can be under GOV.UK - Stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection
Dancers who are joining us, please –
• Book in advance on the Abanico website to give full details for the NHS Test & Trace scheme and also download, complete and bring along the ParQ form to class.
• Arrive punctually 10 minutes before class and queue at the venue front door following the social distancing markings on the ground.
• Wash before and wear clean clothes, bringing very little with you; ie shoe bag and drink bottles.
• Use the toilet at home to avoid queues and additional cleaning time.
• Do not bring any spectators.
• Wear a mask while queuing, entering & exiting the building, as well as when 2m distancing cannot be kept.
• Wait for a member of staff to let you enter the venue and check your temperature with a contactless thermometer.
• Sanitise your hands upon entering the building or wash hands in the toilets.
• ‘Be smart & stay 2m apart’ where possible, staying a safe distance from other students.
• Follow the one-way system and avoid touching anything as walk in or walk out.
• Only remove your mask & change into your dance shoes when inside your dance pod, putting belongings down beside your chair.
• Keep use of toilets to a minimum, but if you do use the facilities, only one person at a time.
• Don masks AFTER class and exit through the side doors of the hall, one row at a time keeping 2m distance, when instructed to leave by the teacher.
• Try to avoid socialising in the car park, before or after class – if you do socialise please remember the rule of 6 and observe the 2m social distancing.
• Please bring your own water for classes as the bars at Warmley are not open and we are unable to provide drinks.
If we offer more than one class we will have a 20 minute break to allow for cleaning, when everyone will need to leave the venue and start again!
Abanico Salsa can no longer keep any lost property left at the venue – following strict guidelines – apologies.
Abanico Salsa will ask anyone who does not comply with these safety measures to leave.
Thank you for reading until the end and for your co-operation. Rest assured we can’t wait to see everyone back dancing with us at Abanico Salsa (Warmley).
