Salsa In The Park 2026 begins at the Blackstone!

Join us for the first Salsa In The Park of 2026 at BCYF Blackstone Community Center courtyard presented by MetaMovements as we begin to celebrate 20 years of community building! This event is Free and all ages! And it's rain or shine (indoor location is the same address)... Whether you’ve been dancing with us for years or are joining for the very first time, everyone is welcome to come enjoy an evening filled with joyful music, connection, and community celebration. Our opening event on May 30th will feature: - Salsa Dance Instruction by MetaMovements and Silent Rhythms, Inc. (in American Sign Language or ASL) - Exciting performances by Latin Angelz, Next Level Fusion, Amanda Rodrigue (Boston Casineros & MetaMovements) - Music will be provided by DJ Hernan, who has been part of the Salsa In The Park family since the very beginning, helping create the joyful soundtrack to almost two decades of unforgettable summer nights. - Music Corner led by a local percussionist where community members of all ages can play percussion instruments along with the music, and experience the rhythms of salsa firsthand. In the spirit of inclusion and accessibility, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about ASL and Tactus' innovative vibro-tactile technology. The Tactus wearable device comes in a form of a vest, and it translates music into vibrations to give a more immersive and well-rounded music experience for members of the deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) community. Tactus was developed together with the community and has been deployed at Deaf schools, live music venues, and dance studios to create shared music experiences everywhere. We are honored to help create a space where everyone can fully participate in the joy of music, dance, and community connection. Come celebrate with us as we begin another beautiful season together!
