MetaMovements Artist Collective member @Eli Pabon was selected for the #OlmstedNow Parks Equity & Spatial Justice Grant making it possible for @Metamovements Latin Dance Company's Artist Collective to bring Salsa In The Park (SITP) back to Jamaica Plain before the summer officially ends! About the Grant: The Olmsted Now Parks Equity & Spatial Justice Grant is intended to explore how Boston can turn the ideas of #ParksEquity and #SpatialJustice into strategic action. Along with fifteen other applicants—artists, creatives, collectives, cultural organizers, organizations and small businesses—I received this grant for my vision to make Boston open space more vibrant, equitable and welcoming. Our programming is supported by the $200,000 “Come Together” Fund of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy Board and the larger Olmsted Now coalition and was selected by the Olmsted Now Committee of Neighborhoods. The Olmsted Now Committee of Neighborhoods is comprised of over a dozen trusted leaders from around Franklin Park’s Roxbury, Grove Hall, Mattapan and Dorchester neighborhoods, featuring artists, educators, nonprofit directors and community/small business organizers. Thank you to the Olmsted Now Committee of Neighborhoods and the “Come Together” Fund of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy for making this grant possible.
