Salsa Love Fest - Wear Red & Pink

RCR hosts a Cuban Dance Party every 1st Saturday of the month at Lake Merritt Dance in Oakland. In February we’re throwing a LOVE FEST, celebrating all kinds of love — wear something red and/or pink. At 5:00pm, Ryan’s listening class will be devoted to different sections of the music, and understanding how to interpret them as dancers — how to hear a mambo section, a bomba section, a guaguancó reference, and how to interpret these as musical dancers. Then at 6:15pm Or will offer a Rueda Mixta class, where alternating couples dance towards the center (pa dentro) and towards the outside (pa fuera). Finally at 7:30pm we offer a 1-on-1 social dancing Salsa-Casino class (two separate levels taught in different rooms simultaneously. LMD is a PERFECT venue for dancing, featuring a smooth vintage hardwood dance floor with ample space to dance.
