See you for our Thanksgiving edition! == DJ Hong and Kosherican are BACK! We will be playing an all-vinyl Latin records gig at LMNO Listening Room in Fishtown, Philadelphia! We'll be playing deep vinyl cuts of salsa, latin jazz, cumbia, latin soul, and more. Note that the space is small so it's more of a listening/hang out experience - a little space for partner dancing but definitely room to get your groove on! ABOUT THE ARTISTS KOSHERICAN (Aaron Luis Levinson) Aaron Luis Levinson is a Grammy award-winning producer, musician, composer and record label owner. He has produced and released dozens of albums since starting his career with Inner City Records in 1981. He is the owner of Range Recording Studios in Ardmore, PA and has served as president of Bell Tower Music, faculty member at Temple University, master lecturer at the University of the Arts and governor of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He has produced, engineered, mixed or consulted on beloved salsa albums such as "Across 110th St" and "Un Gran Dia en el Barrio" by the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, "Soneando Trombon" by Jimmy Bosch, and "Hot Bread" by Pulpo. DJ HONG (Hong Kwon) DJ Hong is a Philadelphia-based DJ and record collector with a passion for salsa, mambo, guaguanco, Latin jazz and other dance floor grooves. His DJ career began 12 years ago in San Francisco, with resident and regular appearances at El Valenciano Latin Wednesdays, SF Salsa Festival/Congress, Hawaii Salsa Festival/Congress, Mambo Frisco (Japan), Formosa Salsa Festival (Taiwan), Jeju Salsa Festival (Korea), and guest DJ sets in clubs and socials in LA, San Diego, Seattle, Las Vegas, Boston, NYC, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he co-founded the 20,000+ member strong CoBeatParty online live streaming salsa community, which recently held its first in-person festival in Barcelona, Spain in September 2022. His weekly live stream, “DJ Hong’s Latin Record Party” airs on Facebook Live and YouTube every Sunday at 8 AM Eastern US Time.
