Salsa On2 Classes (3-in-1)

NOTE: No classes on Monday, May 17. We resume Monday, May 24. Our Monday Salsa On2 (aka NY Style/Mambo) program consists of two hours divided into three classes that progress in difficulty, all for the price of one class. Join as many as appropriate for your level. Price: $15 per session (7pm-9pm) | $120 for Package of 10 Drop-ins welcome. No partner needed. ___________________________ SCHEDULE 7:00-7:30 Beginner+ Salsa On2 (some experience required) Basic footwork, timing, and beginner level partner work. Recommended for dancers with 1-2 months of Salsa On1 or On2 experience and a solid grasp of basic timing. Upper level dancers are encouraged to join to reinforce good fundamentals and warmup for the later classes. New to Salsa? We recommend you start with our Salsa On1 Beginner Class on Wednesdays (and coming soon on Sundays). 7:30-8:15 All Levels Shines “Shines“ are short solo routines designed to play with the music and enhance your dance technique, especially body coordination and mechanics, Afro-Cuban motion, and spins. Shines are frequently employed when social dancing to emphasize musical phrasing. This open level bridge class is recommended for dancers of all levels. 8:15-9:00 Intermediate Partner Work Intermediate* level Salsa On2 partnering class building upon skills learned in the first two classes. Combinations are longer and more challenging, involving faster direction changes, more complicated footwork, hand switches, and spins. Recommended for dancers with 6+ months of Salsa experience and a solid grasp of fundamentals. *Prior Salsa experience required. Newer dancers are always welcome to stay and watch. If you’re unsure if you’re ready for Intermediate, please don’t hesitate to ask us! ___________________________ COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS In offering in-person classes, we are doing our best to balance the safety of our students and ourselves with the needs of our dance community for movement, social activity, and connection. Taking into consideration local government and CDC recommendations: ✅ Masks 😷 are required to be worn by all persons while inside the studio. You can remove your mask to address basic biological necessities like drinking, or if you are suddenly short of breath and feel a need for more air. You should replace your mask as soon as possible if you have to remove it. ✅ You will be given a touchless temperature check 🌡 before entering.
