Salsa on2 Workshops with Yayita Marie

Resolutions and opportunities abound....... 2022 starts with your opening to learning how to dance Salsa, improve your skills and technique, and begin to specialize your all-around Latin social dancing with superb and artistic education from one of the nation's rising instructors. Ritmo Y Tambor Dance Workshops NM proudly presents resident artist, Yayita Marie out of Houston, TX for 3 weeks of Salsa On2 progressive training, specialty classes, and intensive workshops from January 10 - January 30, 2022. Yayita will be teaching a 12 hour Salsa On2 Progressive Series on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 during her 3 week stay. This series will be great for absolute beginners, experienced beginners, and all those interested in making the transition to Salsa On2. The entire 12 hour package is available for $150 and will progress through timing, footwork, styling, turn technique, and partnerwork fundamentals to get all students enriched to the social dance floor. Additionally, Yaya will be teaching 3 intensive workshops focusing on turn and spin techniques in solo and partnerwork application, and body movement. These workshops will be 2 hours long on Saturday 1/15, 1/22, and 1/29 from 3:00-5:00. ================== Workshop Schedule: MONDAY - 7:30pm-9:30pm (Dates 01/10, 01/17. 01/24) Intro to fundamentals and basics of partnerwork and footwork Description: Polish and customize your basics from the ground up, already know your basics? Yaya specialized in Pachanga and Urban Hip-Hop until it was time to come full circle with her roots in Salsa. Focusing in Mambo/Salsa On2, Yaya trained and worked under Salomon Amaya with Amaya Dance in Houston, TX, progressing to the role of instructor assistant before venturing out as an independent artist. Yayita has individually taught several dozen classes of various styles, techniques, and ability level. She has been hired to teach at out of state workshop weekenders, most recently in Phoenix, AZ. Yayita incorporates her early development dances into her teaching style, and believes that "slow and steady" is the key to advancing new and undeveloped students. Yayita emphasizes teaching foundational situations in dance and creating a fun environment while providing layers in class to generate well-rounded dancers.
