Salsa Saturday at Thrive

SALSA SATURDAYS @ THRIVE STUDIO! Dancing is a wonderful way to be self-expressive and it is so empowering! Like Bowpsring, Salsa is a curvy, fluid, and sexy practice! Salsa dancing is a another form of movement where you can take your BOW onto the dance floor. COME PLAY! No partner is required. $10 8:00 - 8:30pm: Learn how to dance an authentic type of salsa, called Rueda de Casino, literally “The Wheel of the Casino.” This is a style of salsa with its origins in Cuba. Pairs of dancers form a large circle and follow “el líder”, the person calling out what dance moves come next! 8:30 - 9:00 - Group Salsa lesson teaching you moves and turns you can try out on the dance floor. 9:00 - ??? Dance Social - Let’s come together and move and groove in our beautiful space with a ROCKING sounds system! About the teacher: Megan Sparks has been dancing salsa for over 10 years. She has studied Rueda De Casino and Afro Cuban dance in Havana Cuba. She is the creative director of “Las Casineras”, a local, all Ladies Rueda team that offers performances and classes in a variety of places throughout the Louisville Community.
