Salsa Social Dancing 101

This 2-hour workshop will focus on tools, techniques, and awareness for the dance floor. Designed to help beginner and intermediate students develop their skills and confidence, and more experienced dancers refine their social dance fluency and connection. Concepts and Techniques to be covered: * Fundamental “Keys” of Partner-work (footwork) * Lead-Follow connection: through hands and body positioning * Communication: giving and responding to cues * Adjusting to different musical tempos * Adapting to different dance floors and situations As well as: * Consent * Feeling your partner out * Plan B’s * Survival tips for follows * Taking time to “Shine” The last 10 minutes will be reserved for us to practice what we’ve covered through social dance with our classmates.
